Topographic and Hydrologic Analyses using Geographic Information System (GIS): A Case Study of Karbala City-Iraq

Analyses are the power point of GIS because can process and analyze different data such as spatial attribute data, leading to obtaining new results for supporting decision-makers. This research aims study two types advanced analyses include; topographic hydrologic western part Karbala in Iraq using GIS. The analysis know surface terrain obtain digital maps that show simulation area based on some methods tools after creating DEM from field survey slope, aspect, hill shades, contour maps. After that, is done area, where this gives main minor hydrological properties region, flow direction, accumulation, stream order, basin These very important making decisions studying any region Iraq, technique offers a save time, cost efforts.
